CORK County Council is currently advertising for sites suitable for parking use in Bandon.
This move by the local authority is hoping to unlock potential spaces for parking use within the town centre, something business owners have been calling for following the transformation of the town’s streetscape as part of the Bandon TPREP (Transportation and Public Realm Enhancement Project.
Expressions of interest are being sought from anyone who may have lands or suitable sites available close to Bandon town centre.

‘Sites should be capable of accommodating approximately 15 car parking spaces or more and be suitable for short to medium term parking use. Both hardstanding and undeveloped sites will be considered, subject to suitability,’ according to the council.
The move comes on the back of draft parking byelaws set to introduce time limits in order to free up car park spaces at Ballymodan, Mill Place, Brady’s Lane and Glasslyn Road.
Cork County Council also introduced a pilot scheme at Bandon GAA Club where 28 car park spaces are being provided for workers and shoppers accessing the town centre.
Expressions of interest for sites suitable for parking use in Bandon should be submitted to Property Section, Cork County Council, Floor 1, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road, Cork and the closing date for submissions is Friday June 26th.
