AN investigation is under way by GAA authorities into an incident which involved a number of alleged assaults during a Junior B football championship game in West Cork earlier this month, writes Kieran O’Mahony.
A spokesperson for the County CCC (Competitions Control Committee) confirmed to The Southern Star that on foot of a referee’s report, the CCC has commenced an investigation into matters relating to a football match which took place on Saturday May 9th.
‘I can confirm that, on foot of a referee’s report, the County CCC have commenced an investigation into matters relating to the Confined Junior B Football fixture between Castlelyons and Garnish,’ said the spokesperson.

He added that they had no further comment to make because it is an ‘ongoing investigation’.
