THE new adult CF inpatient ward in CUH will cater for approximately 25% of Ireland’s Cystic Fibrosis (CF) population. It has been entirely funded by the Build4Life charity.

The ward, which cost €2.3m, represents the largest philanthropic donation to CUH in its history.

The new ward will now allow CF patients to enter the hospital without fear of cross infection which has previously not been the case.

Formed in 2007 with the purpose of developing life saving CF facilities in CUH Build4Life has now donated over €3.4m to the hospital having previously funded the adult outpatient clinic in 2011 and is also currently funding the new children’s outpatient clinic.
