One of Ireland's top TV personalities, Miriam O'Callaghan, revealed a secret at the Marymount fundraising lunch at the West Cork Hotel last Saturday, while the other personality present, Peter Kelly, merely hinted at one.

ONE of Ireland’s top TV personalities, Miriam O’Callaghan, revealed a secret at the Marymount fundraising lunch at the West Cork Hotel last Saturday, while the other personality present, Peter Kelly, merely hinted at one.

Miriam told the capacity crowd at the fundraising event that she successfully deals with awkward people by treating them with ‘implacable courtesy’ – advice given to her by her mother, advice she swears by.

Courtmacsherry man Peter Kelly – who is the star of RTÉ’s Say Yes to the Dress – was the MC at the event and throughout the day he had to field questions about whether or not he was considering relocating back to West Cork.

Peter told The Southern Star he is in West Cork every two to three weekends to visit his parents in Courtmacsherry, but he sheepishly admitted: ‘Anytime soon I could be here more than the weekends – we’ll see.’

The Marymount lunch was a huge success involving a lot of different elements, such as good food, good humour, heartfelt tributes to the organisation, as well as to those living with cancer, the joys of the sisterhood, and fervent promises to live life well and to the full.

The inaugural event was so good, next year’s event is already being planned.
