A man is his 30s is being questioned at Bandon Garda Station over the seizure of €94,000 worth of cocaine yesterday evening.
A MAN in his late 30s was arrested yesterday evening by gardaí after approximately €94,000 worth of suspected cocaine was seized.
At around 7.30pm gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in West Cork stopped and searched a car in the Ballinhassing area. During the course of the search they seized €60,000 worth of cocaine. The man was arrested at the scene and brought to Bandon Garda Station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
As part of a follow up search at a house in Bandon, a further €34,000 worth of cocaine was seized. The suspects drugs seized have now be sent for analysis.
Meanwhile, gardaí have arrested two men in their 20s and 30s in relation to the theft of three outboard engines and a rib boat in Kinsale on February 18th last.
Both men were arrested this morning and are currently detained at Bandon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardaí in Macroom have arrested a man in his 30s to over 20 criminal damage incidents to vehicles parked on Castle Street and New Street in Macroom on February 24th last.
