A CORK playwright will embark on a tour of his play around West Cork.

The Story, written and performed by Timmy O’Mahony, will show in Union Hall and Macroom this month and at the Tracton Arts Festival in July.

The play follows Tom Walsh as he watches over the world from the comfort of his parent’s house on Cork City’s Northside. But when his best friend goes missing, Tom is forced to venture outside in search of the truth. Inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Tom begins to think like the great detective, and embarks on a journey of self-discovery as he attempts to find his way in the world again.

His love for the arts began with a small role in The Wind That Shakes the Barley, and since then Timmy has worked with many theatres and acting groups.

The play has previously been performed at prestigious arts festivals around the country, including Cork Midsummer Festival, Kinsale Arts Festival and the Fastnet Film Festival.

If you didn’t catch previous performances of The Story, this new mini-tour is your chance to see it on stage. TThe Story performs in Cnoc Buí Arts Centre in Union Hall on March 27th, in The Briery Gap in Macroom on March 28th and at the Tracton Arts Festival in Minane Bridge in July.
