THE West Cork Academy squad travelling to Catalonia for next week’s 2025 Surf Cup International tournament has been revealed.
Shane Hurley’s U13 schoolboys squad face four tough tests in the opening group phase of this year’s Surf Cup.
The world-renowned tournament, staged annually between November 26th and 30th in the Mediterranean Sport Village, Salou, Barcelona, will see the region’s U13s come up against top class opposition.

West Cork begins its group phase next Thursday, November 27th, against American side Florida West. Later that same day, Polish club BKS Chemik Bydgoszcz will be the Academy’s second opponents.
On day two of the tournament, Friday November 28th, English Championship club Leicester City should provide formidable opposition. West Cork’s final group outing, and the highlight of the young squad’s week, will be a clash with English Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.
Ahead of travelling to Catalonia, the U13 Schoolboys academy squad was finalised and contains 26 players. Ardfield, Dunmanway Town and Lyre Rovers are each providing four players. Riverside Athletic (three players), Bay Rovers, Beara United, Clonakilty AFC, Drinagh Rangers (two players each), Castlelack, Skibbereen and Sullane (one player each) are also included in a talented squad.
