CnM media development commissioner Rónán Ó Domhnaill said the funding allows organisations to fund events ‘that reflect the diversity of Irish society and highlight the creativity and innovation in Irish media today’.
He added: ‘We believe that a vibrant, well-funded media sector that is sustainable, pluralistic and participative ultimately benefits Irish audiences of all ages and interests, including the Irish language.
‘We look forward to seeing the range and variety of events and activities as they take place over the coure of the coming year.’
Schull has become a magnet for Hollywood A-listers largely thanks to the offbeat festival with director Tom McCarthy and creative advisor Lenny Abrahamson at the helm.
The five-day festival in 2025 attracted big names including Bill Pullman, Barry Keoghan, Nicola Coughlan and Domhnall Gleeson.
Director Ronan Day-Lewis also attended an event about the screenplay he wrote with his Oscar-winning actor father Daniel Day-Lewis.
Kin Uncovered included discussions with lead actors in the hit RTE crime drama including Clare Dunne, Aidan Gillen and Maria Doyle Kennedy, while the ever-popular Puttnam Pitching Event also featured.
It was the first time the festival based its headquarters at The Old Convent, moving from the former AIB building in the village.
