TWO Indonesian men arrested at Dinish Island in Castletownbere because they did not hold valid visas are willing to book flights home themselves, a court heard.

Mokhammad Mukhlis and Riswo appeared at Bandon District Court for being in the country without a valid visa contrary to Section 4 and 13 of the Immigration Act 2004.

Gda Muris O Conchubhair gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and told Judge Joanne Carroll that their arrest was explained to both with the assistance of an interpreter.

Both men made no reply after being charged.

The court heard both men wish to purchase flights themselves to Indonesia, then apply for work permits.

Granting free legal aid, Judge Carroll remanded both on bail to Bantry District Court on November 27th.
