PLANS to attract new businesses, increase the tourism offer and look to the future development  of Bandon will be addressed at a meeting in the town next week.

‘Bandon Business & Tourism Engagement Evening’ is being presented by Cork County Council in partnership with Visit Cork, Fáilte Ireland and the Local Enterprise Office Cork North and West and will take place in the Munster Arms Hotel on Wednesday February 4th from 6pm to 8pm.Organiser are calling on local businesses, community organisation, tourism operators and residents who have an interest in Bandon’s future development to attend this event where they will be addressed by various speakers including a digital marketing specialist who will outline practical ways for small businesses to improve online presence and customer engagement.

Bandon-based Fianna Fáil Councillor Gillian Coughlan has welcomed this event and said she has advocated strongly for the social, cultural, educational and infrastructural development of the town.

‘The results speak for themselves including a new school at planning permission stage, upgraded water and waste water infrastructure, a successful flood relief scheme, new private and social housing schemes, upgraded roads and footpaths and improved connectivity,’ said Cllr Coughlan

‘Businesses have struggled through all of this upheaval in the town in recent years along with other external challenges. We see many vacant buildings in the town and I have called on Cork County Council to create a marketing strategy to support current businesses and to attract new businesses to Bandon.
