‘These shows play a vital role in bringing together the rural and urban of West Cork with agriculture traditions and provide a really good day out,’ said Senator O’Donovan. ‘They are a brilliant celebration of rural life, farming, livestock and local produce.’
He thanked his colleague, Minister Jerry Buttimer, for his work ‘to deliver for these communities who put on such brilliant events’.
Senator O’Donovan concluded: ‘This funding will go a long way in supporting the organisers in putting on the incredible shows that they do every year to ensure that everyone can really enjoy and celebrate agricultural life which is so important to West Cork. I want to thank and wish the best of luck to all of the volunteers who make these shows a success every year.’
