Cork U21 forward Mark Buckley (19) has helped Dohenys into the South West U21A FC final and he’s come a long way from his first ever match … We’ll let Mark explain what happened ….

What’s the one thing you can’t live without? Food. If I’m hungry don’t talk to me.

What would I find in your fridge right now? Chocolate is usually hidden on the top shelf (sorry, mam!). Other than that, it’s all the usuals.

Name one element your sport could/should take from another? The GAA should look at using the sin bin from rugby instead of the black card.

What do you think about when you’re alone in your car? I wish I was driving something better than this. (Mark currently drives a Mercedes jeep but he stresses that’s not as good as it sounds!)

Who has been the biggest influence on your sporting career (and why)? I’ve had some great coaches in GAA and soccer, but it has to be the parents, Tim and Marguerite, for two reasons – food and transport!

Pick two celebrities to be your parents: Conor McGregor and Kim Kardashian … I’d have loads of money anyway.

What do you think cats dream of? If they’re like me, probably females!

If you could play any other sport for one day what would it be? Rugby, what a sport.

If you joined a circus, what would you perform? The flying trapeze, it’s a trick that I’ve often pulled off.

If you could get rid of one county in Ireland what would it be and why? This won’t surprise anyone: Kerry. I’d have two Munster medals by now if they weren’t around!

What would you do if you found a penguin in your freezer? I’d probably put it as my Snapchat story.

Before we let you go, teach us something that we don’t know: The first match I ever played I was told it was training. When I found out it was a match I starting crying and wanted to go home! In fairness, I’ve come a long way since then!
