An accident involving a cyclist and a car saw traffic diverted in Skibbereen this afternoon.

The collision happened at around 3pm at the top of Mardyke Street in the town centre.

One eyewitness said the bike was seen quite far under the car.

An ambulance crew was in attendance and no further details are known at this point.

Motorists were diverted along the junction near the entrance to Aldi.
