A RESTAURANT manager who was caught speeding at 154 kmh on the Macroom bypass has been convicted and fined €300.
Mobeen Khan (22), of Forge Park, Tralee, pleaded guilty at Macroom District Court to dangerous driving on July 27th last.
The court heard that at around 1.50pm, gardaí on patrol witnessed him driving at 154kmph in a 100kmph zone on the N22 at Teerbeg.

They saw his car remain on the overtaking lane after overtaking cars and not changing back to the slow lane.
Having pursued the car and caught up with it they signalled it to stop at the Millstreet exit.
The court heard that Mr Khan was on the way home after landing at Cork Airport following a holiday.
Defence solicitor Patrick Goold told the court his client runs a restaurant in Tralee with his father and has a full driving licence.
‘He has no previous convictions and has learnt his lesson,’ said Mr Goold.
Judge Joanne Carroll reduced the dangerous driving charge to one of careless driving on hearing the evidence.
She convicted and fined him €300 giving him four months to pay the fine.
‘Just slow down, put it behind you and move on,’ said Judge Carroll.
