A UK QUINTET will be returning to West Cork to carry out a number of workshops with primary and secondary school students in the region.

Starting on Monday, October 23rd, the London Chamber Brass will be offering workshops in nine primary and secondary schools in the locality, before finishing on a high note with a special concert at St Fachtna’s Cathedral in Rosscarbery at 8pm on Friday, October 27th.

It is not the first time that the quintet has visited here, and their workshops have been well received in previous years.

A spokesperson for West Cork Music said: ‘Education is an important part of our work and is central to its values. Through our educational activities, we aim to foster music appreciation in schoolchildren by bringing live music experiences into the classroom.’

The spokesperson said there is still time for schools to contact West Cork Music at Glengarriff Road in Bantry to apply for a school visit.

Meanwhile, tickets for the Friday night concert are priced at €18 and €12 and the programme will feature a number of favourites including works by Maynard, Handel, Arnold, Sherwin and Bernstein.
