A 23-year-old man who told gardaí to ‘f** off’ after crashing his car has been given a four-month suspended sentence.
Jamie Lee (23), of Cromogue, Dromcollogher, Cork pleaded guilty at Macroom District Court to a charge of wilfully obstructing a peace officer and two public order charges.
The court heard that Mr Lee was involved in an accident on August 31st last at Glantane West, Carriganima, Macroom and subsequently told gardaí at the scene to f*** off.

Mr Lee is due to start an apprenticeship next month with his girlfriend’s father. He had missed two meetings with Coolmine to address his drug issue, the court heard.
‘I’m 100% off drugs and I don’t surround myself with anybody like that anymore,’ Mr Lee said.
Judge Joanne Carroll said no garda deserves ‘that level of abuse’.
She convicted him on the obstruction charge suspended the four-month jail term for 18 months, on the condition that he attends for drug addiction treatment.
The Probation Service would monitor his attendance, added Judge Carroll who took into consideration the two public order charges.
