ON Christmas morning, eleven-year-old Molly Tyner from Bantry took the plunge, bravely facing the cold waters in Bantry Bay in aid of the Neurosurgery Department in Temple Street Children’s Hospital, Dublin — a place that will forever hold a special place in her family’s heart.

Thanks to Molly’s incredible effort, and the generosity of so many, Molly raised an amazing €3,570, which has now been proudly handed over to the Children’s Health Ireland in aid of the neurosurgical department in Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

In 2022, Molly’s brave sister Nora underwent emergency neurosurgery under the outstanding care of Dr Taffy and her dedicated team.

Nora spent multiple weeks in St Gabriel’s Ward, where she was cared for with extraordinary compassion, patience, and skill as she regained strength after losing complete power on one side of her body.

The support continued long after she left the ward, through physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and outpatient appointments, all of which played a vital role in her recovery.

This swim was a heartfelt thank you to the team who helped give Nora back her strength, her smile, and her spark.

Molly would also like to sincerely thank everyone who sponsored her and supported her as their generosity and encouragement made this possible.
