THE finalists for the different categories of the Hotel & Catering Review gold medal awards have been announced and three West Cork hotels have been nominated.

Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens has been named a finalist for ‘Ireland’s premium value hotel’, the Celtic Ross is shortlisted for ‘Wild Atlantic Restaurant’ and Inchydoney Lodge & Spa for ‘Spa experience’.

The Hotel & Catering Review gold medal awards are recognised as the leading independent awards for the Irish hotel industry. Finalists are chosen following an anonymous visit by judges from the top of the hospitality industry.

Cllr Christopher O’Sullivan, a member of Cork County Council’s tourism committee, said it was fantastic to have three hotels represented at the awards in West Cork. ‘The hotels in the area really add to our tourism product, create massive employment and provide a great service for West Cork. Well done to all involved,’ he added.

Teresa O’Neill of Fernhill House Hotel & Gardens said the hotel was thrilled to be finalists in the prestigious awards. ‘We strive to provide excellent value to our guests. I would like to thank our talented and hardworking team here in West Cork for always going the extra mile. I would also like to ask people to please vote for us by visiting our Facebook page and clicking the link. We sincerely appreciate all of the support,’ she told The Southern Star.

Voting closes on Friday August 21st at 12pm and the awards will be presented at a gala dinner in Dublin on September 29th.
