HEAD chef at Eccles Hotel, Eddie Attwell, has been announced Cork’s Local Food Hero at the RAI Munster Awards.
General manager David Manning was full of praise for Eddie and the rest of the kitchen team following the victory, which was announced at the Strand Hotel in Limerick.
‘We’re fiercely proud of our commitment here in Eccles Hotel to using local produce wherever possible, and our recent million-euro refurbishment includes a new kitchen garden meaning that our ingredients make it from ground to table in the shortest possible time' he said.
The historic Eccles was one of Ireland’s first purpose-built hotels.
