GLENGARRIFF’S landmark and majestic Eccles Hotel will mark its return to the West Cork wedding market with a showcase on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday 16th.
The historic property, which has been helping guests to experience West Cork in all its serene beauty for over 250 years, is now under new management.
New owners Ray Byrne and Eoin Doyle have experience of running top-end wedding venues.
Ray runs the much-loved and stylish Wineport Lodge in Athlone – the venue for TV show The Restaurant – and Eoin runs Wicklow’s boutique Brook Lodge Hotel, and both are hoping to replicate the success of these sister properties, in The Eccles in West Cork.
The wedding showcase will run from 1-5pm each day and present the hotel’s newly refurbished Ilnacullin ballroom, which can comfortably host up to 320 guests.
The ballroom will be set up in all its splendour to help couples visualise their wedding reception at Eccles Hotel.
Other developments currently in train include a bedroom refurbishment programme, as well as new wedding menus.
Rose O’Sullivan, wedding co-ordinator at Eccles, said: ‘As well as larger weddings, Eccles is a wonderful venue for more intimate wedding celebrations, as well as civil ceremonies and blessings. Couples will enjoy a prosecco and canape reception at the showcase, to give them a flavour of our delicious new wedding fare.
‘We’ll also have musical entertainment to add to the vintage and romantic tone.’
