Garda appeal after man attempts to take woman's handbag in Macroom

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to an attempted robbery when a man tried to take a handbag from a woman walking in Macroom last Saturday night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to an attempted robbery from the person that occurred last Saturday, January 12th, shortly before 10pm at Railway View, Macroom, Co. Cork.  

A woman was walking along Railway View when a man, described as being 5’6 – 5’10 wearing dark clothing, approached her from behind and tried to take her handbag. The suspect left the scene empty handed in the direction of St Coleman's Park. The woman was not injured during this incident.  

Gardaí in Macroom are appealing for anyone may have witnessed the incident or who were around Bowl Road, Dan Corkery Place or St Coleman's Park between 9.30 and 10.15pm on Saturday the 12th of January 2019 to contact Macroom Garda Station on 026-20590, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
