UNION Hall’s loss is Skibbereen’s gain as Jessie Kennedy and her husband Billy O'Flaherty have relocated their popular café to the Uillinn Arts Centre.
The Coffee Shop is now open and Jessie, who is well known for her music, said she jumped at the chance to locate in the popular venue.
‘The location is just perfect for me as I have always been involved in the arts and music scene and now we get a chance to combine our food as well,’ she said.
After spending five years located in Union Hall, where the café was included as one of the ‘Best 100 Places to Eat by the Sea’ and was featured in many international tourist guides and magazines, Jessie and Billy have major plans for the Coffee Shop at the Uillinn and of course music is very much to the forefront.
‘We set up the pizza oven in the court yard and the plan is to have freshly made pizzas every Friday and Saturday evening,’ Jessie said.
‘Then during the summer months we’ll have live music, perhaps in the afternoons at the weekends. I’m passionate about combining food, coffee, music and art. So to be at Uillinn and in my home town now feels like a home from home.’
