RUNNERS and walkers across West Cork are being encouraged to lace up their shoes for the upcoming Flying 5 Mile Road Race on April 19th, organised by Bantry Athletic Club.

The popular road race, which takes place along Bantry’s Air Strip, has become a highlight of the local running calendar, attracting participants from across West Cork and beyond. The five-mile distance makes it an ideal challenge for experienced runners while also being achievable for those stepping up from shorter distances.

Organisers say the event is perfect for anyone who has recently completed a Couch to 5K programme and is looking for their next goal. With a friendly atmosphere and strong community support, the race offers a welcoming environment for runners of all abilities.

Local organisers are hopeful the event will once again bring a great crowd of runners and supporters to Bantry, showcasing the town and its beautiful surroundings while promoting health, fitness and community spirit.

Registration for the Flying 5 Mile Road Race is now open on eventmaster.ie, and anyone interested in taking part is encouraged to sign up soon to secure their place on the start line.
