A SOCIAL event has been organised to help raise funds for the ongoing care of a woman from Dunmanus, near Schull, who was permanently incapacitated following a car accident
in 2012.
Mother-of-three Louise Kennedy spent almost a year in hospital before returning to her home town, where she continues to receive care at the local community hospital.
Louise is lovingly supported by her family and her devoted husband, Patrick. Each year, the people of West Cork show their support by organising and attending an annual dance.

This year’s event will be held at the West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen on January 11th from 3pm until 5pm.
The event organisers, John O’Brien, Tom Brosnan, as well as Ger and Siobhan O’Donovan, say this year’s line-up will include popular performers such as Patrick O’Sullivan, Derry Kennedy and Martin Kearney.
The format for the annual fundraiser has changed slightly: In addition to making it an afternoon gig, there will also be bingo from 7pm until 9pm, hence the name ‘Boogie by Day, Bingo
by Night.’
Tickets for the fundraising music event are priced at €15, and will be available at the door, while the bingo is being kindly sponsored by Kingsbridge Private Hospital in Belfast courtesy of Michael Collins TD, and a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.
With medical costs on the rise, Tom Brosnan thanked the people of West Cork for continuing to be generous in their love and support for Louise and her family.
