MORE than 30 children from all over West Cork will be taking part in a Jumbo Run event in Clonakilty on Saturday, September 22nd.

Motor bikes and sidecars from all over Ireland, and even some from the UK, are expected to descend on the town to offer children with special needs and their parents a ride from The Quality Hotel to an activity centre near Kilbrittain.

Entertainment, food and refreshments will be laid on in the hope that the Clonakilty Jumbo Run will be a truly memorable day out for the children.

The fun day will also serve as something of a fundraiser because there will be a raffle held on the day and all of the money raised will go directly to CoAction.

Jumbo Ireland together with CoAction and the West Cork Child Development Service all help to run this unique event, but it was the brainchild of one of the parents, Pat Mulcahy.

Pat had the idea for the inaugural event three years ago and it was so much fun that it is now an eagerly anticipated annual event.
