THE Briery Gap Theatre and Library in Macroom, which was devastated by fire in 2016, is to get a €350,000 boost.

THE Briery Gap Theatre and Library in Macroom, which was devastated by fire in 2016, is to get a €350,000 boost.

Minister for Culture Josepha Madigan TD confirmed today that an additional €350,000 will be made available to support its reconstruction.

The theatre and library, which is owned and managed by Cork County Council, has been closed ever since the fire.

In 2017, the Department, under an arts and cultural capital scheme, awarded a grant of €250,000 towards its re-instatement.
