THE annual presentation of the BARA Camera Club cheque to Cancer Connect for money raised from the sale of the Bantry & Beyond Calendar 2026 took place at the Westlodge on Saturday March 14th.
When making the presentation, Margaret Hubbard noted that this was the 22nd year producing the calendar and for at least the last 11 years it had been sold in support of Cancer Connect.
Sadly, after 22 years, due to competition from other calendars and rising production costs the Camera Club members have decided not to produce a calendar for 2027.

Helen O’Driscoll of Cancer Connect thanked the Camera Club for their long standing support and announced that Cancer Connect have been made a PTSB Community Partner for 2026. Neilie O’Leary reflected on the history of Cancer Connect and how important the support they received from fundraising activities such as the calendar was to their survival in the early years.
The Camera Club thanks everyone who supported them by buying the calendar, and all the shopkeepers and businesses that helped by selling the calendars. The club especially thanked the Westlodge for generously sponsoring the presentation of the donation to Cancer Connect.
