LOVE/HATE actor Robert Sheehan has been confirmed as the latest Irish talent to join the 2026 guest line-up for the Fastnet Film Festival in Schull.

The popular event returns to the seaside village from May 20th to 24th, bringing together filmmakers, actors, and film lovers from around the world for five days of screenings, industry talks, workshops, and special events. 

Robbie Sheehan is a magnetic, wildly original performer with remarkable range. He brings humour, depth, and unpredictability to every role, making even unconventional characters feel vivid and relatable. 

Widely known for his breakout role as Nathan Young in Misfits and for his unforgettable portrayal of Klaus Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy, he is celebrated for his brilliant comic timing and emotional depth.

Beyond acting, Sheehan hosts The Earth Locker, where he explores the human condition through conversations and reflections, and he is the author of the books Disappearing Act and Playing Dead: How Meditation Brought Me Back to Life (2024).

As part of the festival programme, FFF will also screen The Road Within, starring Robbie Sheehan as Vincent, a young man with Tourette syndrome whose mother has recently died. 

His distant father, Robert, places him in a treatment clinic run by the unconventional Dr. Mia Rose. There, Vincent befriends Marie, who struggles with anorexia, and Alex, who lives with obsessive-compulsive disorder. 

Seeking freedom, Vincent and Marie steal Dr. Rose’s car and force Alex to join them when he threatens to report them. Their road trip to scatter Vincent’s mother’s ashes becomes a powerful journey of friendship, healing, and self-discovery. 

The film shines with heartfelt humour, sincere performances, and a compassionate portrayal of mental health, making it both deeply moving and genuinely uplifting.
