MARYMOUNT University Hospital and Hospice is asking Montessori groups, creches, pre-schools and primary schools from across the region to host a hospice sunflower fun day this June to raise vital funds to support their services as part of the Hospice Sunflower Days campaign.

It is easy to get involved and help make a difference.

Simply select a date in June to host your hospice sunflower fun day, register on the website at www.sunflowerdays.ie, receive your welcome pack and you’re all set for fun.

The welcome pack will include colouring pages and sunflower seeds for the children to enjoy planting during the fun day.

Families are asked to make a €2 donation on the day, or whatever they can afford, and all funds will go directly your chosen hospice.

The initiative is running as part of Together for Hospice’s Hospice Sunflower Days campaign which is now in its 36th year.

Every euro raised locally, stays locally, and all funds raised through the initiative will be used to support the delivery of specialist palliative care in hospices as well as palliative home care throughout the country.

Speaking about the initiative, Enid Conway, fundraising and marketing manager, Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, commented: ‘We are delighted to once again run our hospice fun day initiative as part of our Hospice Sunflower Days campaign. We are calling on as many schools, pre-schools and creches as possible from all across Cork to get involved and help us make a difference to hospice care in the area.’

For further information on how to take part visit www.sunflowerdays.ie.

Marymount University Hospital and Hospice can also be helped by supporting their on-street collections which will take place from Friday June 12th to Sunday June 14th.
