DID you ever look enviously at the real men and women of the national ploughing out on the field, and dream of being among them on your very own plough some day?
Dream no longer, as West Cork ploughmen and women will have a chance to learn the craft at a Ploughing Training Day in Kilbrittain on Saturday January 31st.
The event is a fun, friendly, and hands-on Ploughing Training Day for complete beginners, those who would like to plough competitively, or for those looking to sharpen their skills.

Attendees can expect pre-ploughed training plots at different stages, with expert local coaches and judges from across West Cork on hand all day for tips and feedback.
Attendees will also get the chance to plough with their own tractor and plough, as well as demonstration plots from World, European and All-Ireland Champions: bring a pen and copybook! The day is run under NPA rules.
Beginning at 11am, the day is free to attend. Hosted by the De Courcey Classic and Vintage Club in association with Kilbrittain Ploughing Association, the training day takes place on the Draper Family Lands at Artitige, Kilbrittain (P72 YY60).
Ploughing classes include conventional, reversible, standard three furrow, vintage hydraulic/classic, trailer vintage, single furrow vintage, horse ploughing , and loy ploughing.
Participants must be over 16 and hold a valid licence.
