THE Clonakilty makers of the best-selling Discovering Ireland are back with another board game – a jigsaw puzzle for children and adults.

‘Art Puzzle of Ireland’ has been just launched by the independent firm Gosling Gifts and Games. The 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle takes the player on a journey around the landmarks and ancient sites of Ireland and introduces you to key people in Irish history.

Mary Gosling, co-founder of Gosling Gifts and Games, said the games is a response to calls by shops, asking for a new puzzle featuring Ireland and its ancient sites, as a ‘follow-up’ to the company’s other puzzles.

Gosling Gifts and Games was set up by Mary Gosling and her husband Graham in 1987, the year the duo launched the popular Discovering Ireland. Since then, their games have featured on The Late Late Toy Show and have found their way into homes across Ireland and abroad.

Along with these fun family board games, the company’s range also includes Ark Buddies: Noah’s Memory Game, jigsaw puzzles, the Make it! Bake it! collection of puzzles and recipes, Celtic magnets and mirrors, mugs, coasters, tea towels, prints and greeting cards.

Art Puzzle of Ireland is made here in West Cork and is beautifully illustrated by Muirghein Harding Smith from Rosscarbery.

‘It adds to the company’s collection of puzzles celebrating Irish history and myths,’ said Mary Gosling. ‘The new jigsaw puzzle fits in with our ethos of combining education and fun. We always try to invent games and create puzzles that will make children think or learn something as well as have fun. Everything we make has both fun and substance.’

The puzzle game retails at €16. For more see www.goslinggiftsandgames.com.
