A TOTAL of €5.98m in payments under the CSP Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme has been confirmed by Agriculture Minister Martin Heydon.
The payment – supporting 9,175 participating farmers and 299,839 calves – represents a 17.4% increase on scheme year one.
This is the second year of the scheme as part of the CAP Strategic Plan with payments issuing in respect of eligible calves born on applicants’ holdings between January 1st and December 31st 2025.

Payment of €20 per eligible calf (up to a maximum of 50 calves) will be made to eligible participants.
The Minister announced a package to provide over €30m in support to the tillage sector. The scheme will provide for a degressive rate of payment to applicants who declared cereal and oilseed rape crops.
