Wycherley (20), son of Florence and Catherine who live in Coomhola, Bantry, received the award in recognition of his impressive displays and development with Munster.

In his second year with the Academy, he will move up to a development contract next season after signing a one-year deal in January.

He made his competitive debut against Cardiff Blues in March 2017 and has made six senior appearances to date.

Announcing Wycherley as the winner at their recent awards, Munster Rugby commented: ‘An Ireland U20s international, the lock helped Munster A to last year’s British and Irish Cup title and has been a model professional this season showing great dedication in battling back from a number of injuries.’
