TOGHER Celtic remain firmly in the PremierHiSpecCars.com Premier Division title race alongside kingpins Clonakilty Soccer Club and Drinagh Rangers.

With Togher set to face Clon this Sunday in Darrara College (11am), and both sides level at the summit on 28 points, this promises to be a mouth-watering clash.

Togher extended their winning run to six games in all competitions with a 3-0 victory over Castletown Celtic. Second-half goals from Paudie Crowley (2) and Brian Horgan wrapped up the points against a dogged Castletown outfit. With Drinagh sitting third on 25 points, it is shaping up as a three-way fight for the ultimate prize.

Drinagh Rangers and Dunmanway Town met in the Beamish Cup last week before renewing acquaintances in the Parkway Hotel/Maybury Coaches Cup.

Once again, it was Drinagh who emerged victorious, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Cillian Fitzpatrick and Robbie McQueen. Keith White replied for Dunmanway.

In the OBrienWaterServices.com Championship, Bunratty United moved to the top of the table following a 3-0 win over Skibbereen Celtic. David Regan, Conor Brosnan and Eoin O’Brien were all on target for United. Aultagh Celtic also enjoyed success, recording a rare 2-1 victory over Skibbereen AFC. JP Reen gave Skibb a 1-0 half-time lead, but second-half goals from Gary O’Neill and Daniel Barrett turned the game in Aultagh’s favour.

In Round 2 of the Women’s Cup, Beara United advanced comfortably after a 4-1 second-leg win over Aultagh Celtic, sealing a 10-2 aggregate victory. Ruby Downing scored twice for United, with Chloe O’Neill and Maire Twomey also finding the net. Julia Hegarty grabbed the consolation goal for Aultagh.

Drinagh Rangers take a 4-1 lead into their second-leg clash with Dunmanway Town this Sunday. Rangers were dominant in the first leg as Rachel O’Donovan (2), Róisín O’Driscoll and Lorraine O’Neill all scored, while Ellen Healy netted for Dunmanway.

Finally, in the Fusion Home Decor Women’s 7s League, Lyre Rovers kept pace at the top of the table with a convincing 7-1 win over Bandon. Meadhbh Coomey was in sensational form, scoring five goals, while Leah Egan added the other two. Bandon’s consolation came via an own goal.
