SKIBBEREEN Rowing Club is well represented in the shortlist for Rowing Ireland’s annual awards night that will take place at Fota Island Resort on January 31st.
After another impressive year, Ireland’s No. 1 rowing club, Skibbereen Rowing Club, has been shortlisted for the Club of the Year award, alongside St Michael’s Rowing Club and Loughros Point Rowing Club.
Young Skibbereen Aoife Hendy rower is in the running for the Young Female Rower of the Year award, while Mattias Cogan of Skibbereen Rowing Club is on the three-strong shortlist for Young Male Rower of the Year.

Skibb rower Aisling Hayes, who made her senior debut for Ireland this year, is nominated for the Senior Female Rower of the Year award, alongside Fiona Murtagh (University of Galway) and Margaret Cremen (Lee Rowing Club)
The McCarthy twins, Fintan and Jake, are both shortlisted for the Senior Male Rower of the Year award, along with Philip Doyle (Belfast Boat Club).
Skibbereen Rowing Club legend Nuala Lupton is shortlisted for the Women In Sport Advocate of the Year award.
Also, Sadhbh Ni Laoghaire of Bantry Rowing Club has been shortlisted for the Rowability Award of the Year, along with Tiarnan O’Donnell (Lee Rowing Club) and Joe Cunningham (Castleconnell Boat Club).
