The Irish duo, who finished seventh in the world last year, have moved up the rankings, and just missed out on a medal in a race won by France with Denmark in second and Great Britain in third place.
The West Cork pair’s time of 7.24.600 was eight seconds behind the Great Britain crew and eight seconds ahead of China in fifth.
