BRAGGING rights went to younger sibling Paddy after he came out on top in the battle of the brothers in the opening round of the 2026 Sigerson Cup.

What made this clash between Paddy’s University of Limerick side and his older brother Keith’s MTU Cork team even more intriguing was that the Schull brothers were directly marking one another.

Paddy lined out at wing-back on the UL team that claimed a 0-17 to 1-9 victory, while Keith played at wing-forward for an MTU Cork side missing several players, including Bantry Blues’ Dara Sheedy.

‘All love is lost when you cross the whitewash!’ Paddy quipped afterwards, as the Gabriel Rangers duo went head-to-head.

‘It’s just another number when you’re playing. You can’t be thinking too much about it, but thankfully we got over the line.’

A year younger than Keith, Paddy took home the all-important bragging rights from the Sigerson opener, before both colleges were back in action this week – UL faced DCU, while MTU Cork took on Ulster University.
