MYROSS Rowing Club were crowned Club of the Year as the South West Coastal Yawl Rowing Association (SWCYRA) celebrated another fantastic season at their annual awards night and dinner dance.

Hosted in style by the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery, proud sponsors of the championship, this was a special occasion for South West rowing, as the heroes from another stellar season took centre stage.

Congratulations were extended to all medal winners across the clubs, with standout performances from Kilmacsimon Swimming and Rowing Club who were winners of the Teddy Burns Underage Club of the Year Cup, and Myross Rowing Club, who were crowned Club of the Year for their excellence on and off the water.

The night also saw the inaugural presentation of the Pat Joe Harrington Volunteer of the Year Award, a touching tribute to the late Pat Joe Harrington, awarded to the ever-dedicated Ger O’Driscoll of Ring Rowing Club for over 40 years of outstanding service.

Special thanks were extended to Anne Downey of the Celtic Ross Hotel for presenting the trophies and to guest of honour Seán Mahon, managing director of The Southern Star, whose continued support through the annual Schools Regatta has helped inspire the next generation of rowers.

It was a night of pride, passion, and celebration – a fitting end to another incredible SWCYRA season.
