CARBERY RANGERS: Three adult teams are in action this weekend. The seniors face Éire Óg in Ardagh on Sunday (11.30am) in Division 1 of the county league. The juniors face St James on Saturday (2pm) in Ardagh in Division 7 while in the Carbery league Division 4, the junior 2’s travel to Clonakilty on Friday (8pm).
The U14s play Ilen Rovers away on Friday (7pm). The U12s take on Argideen Rangers away on Friday (7.30pm). The U18s fell to defeat against Castlehaven (1-10 to 0-14), and they meet against Ballinhassig in Ardagh on Monday (7.30pm). Congratulations to the Cork minor footballers, including Carbery Rangers’ Luke O’Neill and coach Maurice Moore.

ILEN ROVERS: The junior ladies beat Naomh Fionnbara 3-11 to 1-10. They play their next game at home in Rath against Courcey Rovers on Tuesday, May 26th. The U16 boys beat Cill na Martra in a league game in Church Cross. The U12 boys had a win against Castlehaven in Union Hall. The U10 boys played a series of games against Tadgh MacCarthaigh last Saturday morning in Rath.
The minor men lost out to Muintir Bháire. The U14 boys play their next championship game against Carbery Rangers on Friday in Rath (7pm). The U9 boys are playing O’Donovan Rossa in Rath on Thursday (7pm). The intermediate team play in the league on Friday (8pm) in Church Cross against St Nicks.
Good luck to Leah Carey, Maebh Collins and the Cork U20s on Saturday, playing away to Galway (2pm). Congratulations to Darragh Murphy, Oran Keane and Ian Fitzgerald who were involved in the West Cork Regional Primary Schools skills competition in Dunmanway. They progressed to the county final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
KILMEEN/KILBREE: The hurlers continued their Carbery League Division 1 winning form with a 2-19 to 0-12 victory over Newcestown. That’s six wins in as many games as they sit top.
Jim Shanahan opened the scoring before adding another excellent point from a sideline cut. Cillian Twohig chipped in with three points, while Jonathan Deasy and Brian Deasy also raised white flags in a tough and physical contest.
Further points from Cian Murphy, Cillian Twohig and the impressive Shanahan helped Kilbree build a 0-13 to 0-4 lead by half time. Goals from Joseph O’Donovan and Cillian Twohig put daylight between the sides and ensured Kilbree finished strongly. Their final league game is scheduled for a couple of weeks’ time against Clonakilty. The junior B camogie team were defeated by Cobh 2-13 to 2-6 in their final group game of the county league. The second hurling team put up a brave fight against a very strong Bandon team, but fell short 3-31 to 1-9. The U14s played the hurling championship against Passage. A tough assignment where Passage were victorious. On Saturday, the U12 hurlers travelled away to St Oliver Plunketts. The U16 camogie team travelled to Buttevant on Sunday but lost out. The U12 camogie girls welcomed Douglas on Sunday, winning 6-3 to 3-1.
O’DONOVAN ROSSA: The U13 girls drew the West Cork final 4-12 to 5-9 with Clonakilty in Rosscarbery. The sides will have to do it all again in a replay. The U14 girls won their first league game away to Dohenys, 6-5 to 2-8. The U13 boys team made the long journey to St Nick’s in the league and won. The junior footballers drew 2-10 apiece with Bandon.
