Former Bantry Bay Rovers underage star wins FAI award on Sunday night
TALENTED West Cork teenager Connor Ellis was named FAI Schools’ International Player of the Year at the FAI International Football Awards on Sunday night.
The Cork City U19 striker, who made his senior debut for the club last season, was in top form last season for the FAI schools’ team captured the Centenary Shield for the first time in five seasons.
The Kealkill star scored two penalties in their 3-2 win against Northern Ireland last March and he followed that up with a classy goal against Scotland in April as ireladn earned a 1-1 draw away from home.
Coláiste Phobail, Bheanntraí Leaving Cert student Ellis (18) is also a former Celtic Ross West Cork Youth Sports Star of the Year.
