A HOTLY-ANTICIPATED clash between Cork and Limerick takes place this Saturday (7pm) at the Gaelic Grounds in the national hurling league.

Both teams look good for a league final spot but a win for the Rebels would clinch a place in the Division 1A decider. For Limerick, a victory would have them on the verge of a top-two finish.

While Cork saw off Kilkenny last weekend, Limerick beat Offaly (2-19 to 0-17). What’s amazing is the two Munster rivals have almost identical scoring records. Cork scored 8-86. Limerick have hit 3-101. Both counties have conceded 3-75. They have the same scoring difference too with +26.

Alan Connolly (1-21), Darragh Fitzgibbon (0-14) and Brian Hayes (3-2) have all chipped in for Cork. The Leesiders need to watch Limerick’s high flyers in Aidan O’Connor (0-39), Shane O’Brien (1-11) and Peter Casey (0-9).

Meanwhile, in Division 1A of the Centra Camogie Leagues, this Saturday Cork are away to Kilkenny in St Lachtain’s, 2pm throw-in.
