BANDON Grammar’s hopes of back-to-back Munster Schools Boys’ Junior Cup titles were dashed by St Munchin’s College.
The West Cork school had lost to CBC earlier in the competition but bounced back to beat Crescent College Comprehensive, and found this semi-final a step too far – the Limerick school won 44-8 at Thomond Park to set up a final date with CBC.
Bandon Grammar hit the headlines last season when they won the junior cup for the first time, but there will be no complaints after bowing out to St Munchin’s, who also knocked Bandon Grammar out of the senior cup at the semi-final stage.
