Bandon run in seven tries to win the title in style
BANDON turned on the style as they were crowned Munster Junior League Division 1 champions on Sunday.
The league leaders knew that a bonus-point win at home to Newcastlewest in their final league game would be enough to guarantee them the title – and they won in style, 41-24.
Bandon, coming off the back of three bonus point wins in a row, raced into a 36-0 lead at half-time and led 41-10 at one stage in the second half, as they ran in seven tries.
Santiago Gonzalez (2), Olan Crowley, Scott Kingston, Enda Phelan, Billy Crowley and Ryhs Harrold scored the tries while Kerry Desmond added two conversions and Billy Crowley another.
This is Bandon’s first Division 1 title since 1992/93, and follows on from their fantastic Munster Junior Cup win last year.
