THE just-announced Georgina Campbell Irish Food & Hospitality Awards had a strong West Cork flavour.
The annual event puts the spotlight on the country’s top service providers across B&Bs and guesthouses, five-star hotels, global cuisine cooks, and breakfast makers.
The winners included Jacob’s, at the Waterfront Hotel in Baltimore which won the ‘Café-Bar’ award in the casual dining category.

Taking the ‘dairy’ title in the producer award category was Gloun Dairy, Dunmanway, run by the O’Donovan family.
The O’Donovan’s are no strangers to winning awards (including a Southern Star farming award) for their produce.
In the special hospitality award category, ‘Long Haul Hero 2025’ was presented to Fergus and Trish O’Mahony, Mary Ann’s Bar & Restaurant, Castletownshend.
Georgina Campbell, who has run the awards since the 1990s, spoke about the current challenging climate for the sector.
‘Thank goodness there are still so many wonderful people demonstrating extraordinary resilience at a time when Ireland’s hospitality and food sector faces so many challenges,’ she said.
