Fianna Fáil TD Aindrias Moynihan has welcomed funding of €184,930 for community vehicles in County Cork, saying it will provide vital services for local people and strengthen community supports.

Minister Dara Calleary announced funding for 32 community vehicles nationwide under the CLÁR Programme.

Macroom Senior Citizens Housing Development have received €31,455 for an electric vehicle for their meals on wheels service.

Goleen meals on wheels also received funding for a new vehicle.

‘These community vehicles are essential for ensuring people can access day centres, medical services, and transport to cancer treatment,’ said Deputy Moynihan.

‘This funding will make a real difference to those who rely on such services.

‘These groups play an exceptionally important role in our communities. This funding will help them continue their vital work and ensure vulnerable people have the supports they need.’
