Two juveniles arrested for Macroom robbery

GARDAÍ have arrested two juveniles in relation to a robbery incident that took place in Macroom last Tuesday.

The two juvenile males were arrested this morning, following a search operation in the Macroom area. They are currently being held in Macroom and Bandon Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Shortly before 3pm last Tuesday  two ladies (mid 60s and early 90s) were out walking in the Castlegrounds, Macroom, when they were both knocked to the ground and had a handbag stolen by two men. The men then left the scene, into Macroom Golf club and out onto the road at Sleeven Upper. The woman in her 90s was brought to Cork University Hospital with minor injuries and has since been discharged.
