SKIBBEREEN company, Spearline Labs, has been listed as a finalist in the SME category of the Cork Company of the Year awards, run by Cork Chamber.
The company, which was founded in 2003 by university friends, Kevin Buckley and Matthew Lawlor, is one of three finalists alongside Cork’s Red FM and the Irish International Trading Corporation.
The nomination comes in recognition of the fact that Spearline Labs has become a leader in toll and toll-free number testing – a facility that allows companies to test, monitor and improve the performance of their international telecoms – and now has a global infrastructure that stretches to over 60 countries.
Spearline Labs employs over 30 people at its HQ in Skibbereen, and has also opened offices in Kilkenny and Romania to facilitate its growing client base of Fortune 500 companies.
Company CEO, Kevin Buckley, told The Southern Star: ‘2016 was an incredible year of growth for Spearline Labs and we are thrilled to see our hard work acknowledged by the local business community in Cork.
‘We have always been incredibly proud of our Cork heritage and our contribution to driving Cork towards being the digital capital of Ireland.’
Last month Spearline Labs was ranked 287th on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500TM EMEA (Europe Middle East & Africa) list, a ranking of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in EMEA within the last four years.
The Cork Company of the Year Awards will be announced at the Annual Cork Chamber dinner on Friday, February 3rd.
