A pizza delivery service in Macroom was fined €300 for employing a man without a work permit. The state brought the case against J&I Ventures Ltd at Macroom District Court.
Two allegations had previously been made about an employee at Apache Pizza on Main Street, Macroom, for not having the right to work in Ireland ahead of gardaí visiting the premises and carrying out a work visa inspection.
Defence solicitor Jack Purcell,,said his clients accepted that the employee did not have the proper paperwork. Judge Joanne Carroll said: ‘You must make sure that all your employees have a work permit.’ The company was fined €300. Funded by the Courts Reporting Scheme.
