THE state commemoration of the centenary of the burial of O'Donovan Rossa is to be broadcast live by RTE.

THE state commemoration of the centenary of the burial of O’Donovan Rossa is to be broadcast live by RTÉ from 10.35 – 11.55am on Saturday, August 1st.

It is also being live streamed on their website, www.rte.ie, for those living outside of the country. It will be attended by the President, the Taoiseach and member of the extended O’Donovan Rossa family.

As the O’Donovan Rossa centenary commemorations draw to a close there are still some other events taking place for those who would like to learn more about the famous patriot.

On Friday, July 31st at 7.30pm, there will be a free talk entitled ‘Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa: Irish nationalist and champion of the cause of Poland’ in Dublin, hosted by Gabriel Doherty, of UCC’s School of History. In the Pearse museum in Dublin on Sunday, August 2nd there will be a free exhibition on Padraig Pearse’s graveside oration.
