Darrara native Frances Collins has taken up her role as ambassador to the Holy See, making her Ireland’s representative at the Vatican.
She presented her credential letters to Pope Francis in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace on Monday.
Her siblings and uncle, West Cork priest Fr Tom Collins were with her for the occasion.
